| Jesper
Johansson was born in
1970 in Gotenborg, Sweden. His love of horses and prior work experience in
Sweden with a breeder of Arabians brought him to the United States. He
relocated to the Santa Ynez Valley to work with a renowned horse training
facility. His love for cooking led him to seek another venue. He
subsequently enrolled in a Hotel, Restaurant and Culinary Management
school in Santa Barbara, California, from which he graduated with honors
in 1997. |
| Following graduation, Jesper
joined a team of chefs at Brothers Restaurant in Solvang gaining
invaluable hands-on experience. When approached to bring his talent to a
different location and the opportunity have his own kitchen, he
immediately took the challenge. In mid 1999, with the newly remodeled
General Store and Café Quackenbush opened its doors in Los Alamos,
California.

Chef Jesper
Johansson café cuisine menu and innovative
presentation quickly became a big success with local residents and tourist
alike. The Café and Art Gallery are a favorite stopping
point with wine enthusiasts who tour the central coast
